Trump v. CASA was a SCOTUS in the Classroom case. It was decided on June 27, 2025.

This case involved a challenge to President Donald Trump’s executive order concerning birthright citizenship. The executive order was challenged in court by several different plaintiffs, and three District Courts in Maryland, Massachusetts, and Washington have issued universal injunctions pausing the implementation of the executive order.

The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to issue a partial stay (temporary lifting) of the injunctions. The administration said it was asking the Court to restrict the scope of the preliminary injunctions to people directly involved in the case; it was not asking the Court to decide on the constitutionality of the executive order. The Supreme Court consolidated Trump v. CASA with two similar cases challenging the executive order, Trump v. Washington and Trump v. New Jersey
