In this elementary-school-level lesson, students will explore, defend, and possibly revise their personal views on whether public schools should be year-round for students. Students will learn about the pros and cons of children attending year-round schools. They will then read about and evaluate data from schools to compare different schedules used in various public schools. Finally, students will have an opportunity to revisit their previous views and share with their classmates by participating in a Take a Stand activity.
