June Medical Services LLC v. Russo (2020)

June Medical Services v. Russo was a SCOTUS in the Classroom case. It was decided on June 29, 2020.

Each term Street Law selects the most classroom-relevant, student-friendly cases as our SCOTUS in the Classroom cases. Teachers are encouraged to conduct moot courts the same week the case is argued, giving students the opportunity to follow discussion and analysis in the news and listen to or read a transcript of the actual oral arguments.

1. Does an abortion provider have standing to sue to protect the rights of women seeking abortions?
2. Does a Louisiana law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals present an undue burden on the right of women in Louisiana to obtain abortions?
