The Frayer Model is a well-researched strategy that supports vocabulary learning. This Frayer Model for Vocabulary Graphic Organizer can help students master key vocabulary needed for a variety of Street Law lessons and discussion strategies. The four-square template places a vocabulary word in the center and provides space for students to record the definition; facts, characteristics, or a drawing about the word; and examples and non-examples.
Teacher instructions and an example of a completed Frayer Model are also provided.
The Frayer Model was developed in 1969 by Dorothy Frayer and colleagues at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
