This U.S. Supreme Court case tackled the following question: Does Virginia’s exclusion of women from the educational opportunities provided by VMI deny women, capable of all of the individual activities required of VMI cadets, the equal protection of the laws guaranteed by the 14th Amendment?

It was decided on June 26, 1996.
