United States v. Skrmetti was a SCOTUS in the Classroom case. It was decided on June 18, 2025.

This case decided whether the Tennessee ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth was a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment because it discriminated on the basis of sex.

Each term Street Law selects the most classroom-relevant, student-friendly cases as our SCOTUS in the Classroom cases. Teachers are usually encouraged to hold moot courts of the case.
