This U.S. Supreme Court case tackled the following question: Does the First Amendment require proof of the defendant’s subjective intent to threaten in order to convict them of threatening another person? Or is it enough to show that a “reasonable person” would regard the statement as threatening?
It was decided on June 1, 2015.
